Experimenting wiechniques, images and mediums, Abeyta utilizes oil, charcoal and sand in the bold turquoises, reds and purples that represent his homeland.

Gorman’s “Navajo Chilis.” Raised in a traditional Navajo Hogan in Arizona, Gorman (1932 – 2005) was also an accomplished sculptor, printmaker and ceramicist. He became famous for his fluid, lyrical characterizations of full-bodied Native American women. The author and illustrator of four cookbooks, he was fond of depicting food in his paintings.
